Orthodontics is a branch of dentistry which has been around since early times. Before, people would go to orthodontic specialists only if their teeth misalignment is already causing other health problems. But these days, people can go to orthodontists even for cosmetic purposes.
Orthodontic procedures nowadays are not only intended to fix teeth alignment problems, they are also intended to make a patient more attractive. In the early years of orthodontics, appliances are embarrassing to wear.
Nevertheless, with the advancements made in orthodontics, these appliances have been made in order to make the users feel at ease wearing them. Some of these orthodontic appliances were even designed in order to be unnoticeable such as lingual braces.
